The problem
Neighbors have things to give away, swap, or sell cheaply — but no simple, trusted way to do it locally without going through big marketplaces or strangers across the city.
Who it's for
Filipino residents of a neighborhood who want to donate, barter, or buy household items and food from the people living near them.
What it does
- Three ways to exchange: Donate (free giveaways), Barter (item swaps with photo offers), and Deals (discounted sales).
- Runs in the browser — no app download, and sign-in is just a phone number with SMS verification.
- Browsing neighbors see only an approximate area (~50 meters); the exact pickup spot is shared only with the person whose claim is accepted.
- Built-in chat for arranging handovers and payment details.
- Free to use — payments happen in person at pickup, with no commission and no payment processing on our side.
- Currently piloting in a single barangay, with more neighborhoods planned.
How we designed it
- Privacy first: approximate location by default, exact location only after a claim is accepted.
- No payments in the app on purpose — it keeps the platform free and keeps exchanges between neighbors, not intermediaries.
- Starts with one barangay so it can earn real neighborhood trust before it grows.
